New Suzuki Cars

Michio Suzuki started the Suzuki Loom Works in Hamamatsu, Japan in 1909. After World War II, the company created the first motorized bicycle called the Power Free. The bike became successful and was soon accompanied with another model. In 1954, the company changed its name to what it is today, and a year later produced the first mass-produced car called the Suzulight. In 1985, Suzuki inked a deal with GM to meet the increasing demand for small cars in the USA. The company was overwhelmingly successful more than any other Japanese company, but then the Consumer Report for 1988 called for Samurai to cease existence. The company went to court and was found to be vindicated. Today, the Suzuki model lineup in the USA includes the Aerio sedan and SX, Forenza, Grand Vitara, Reno, Verona, and the XL-7.
