New Saab Cars

Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget (SAAB) was founded in 1937, Stockholm to equip the Swedish Air Force with bombers and fighters. It was soon clear that the skills and experience honed developing jet fighters could be applied to car design and manufacturing. As a result, sixteen aircraft engineers were selected to develop the company’s first four wheel prototype. The result of their labor was the Saab 92, which featured a two stroke/two cylinder engine with 25 horsepower. Once in production, the car sold over 20,000 units. Today the Saab lineup includes: the 9-2X, 9-3 sedan/convertible, 9-5 sedan, and the 9-7X.
