New Nissan Cars

In 1914, Kenjiro Den, Rokuro Aoyama and Meitaro Takeuchi started the Kwaihinsha Motorcar Works in the Azabu-Hiroo district of Tokyo. On June 1, 1934, the company became the Nissan Motor Company. During this time, Nissan partnered with Austin of the UK (which later became British Motor Corporation) to gain access to engine and car designs. Nissan soon began producing a variety of Austin-derived models like the original Austin A50 based Datsun 1000. After World War II, Nissan introduced its own models and continued to develop its own engine designs beyond what the Austin designs had offered. During the 1960s, the company produced several memorable sports cars including the Z, and the Skyline GT-R. Today, the model lineup includes the Altima, Armada, Maxima, Murano, Pathfinder, Quest, Sentra, Xterra, Versa, and the 350Z.
