New Infiniti Cars

On November 8, 1989 Infiniti cars opened its doors to meet the challenge from rival upstart rivals from Toyota and Honda, namely Lexus and Acura. Upon launch, the company only had two cars, the performance luxury Q45, and the driver oriented M30 sedan. The Q45 resonated well with the American car buyers because it featured luxury appointments not found on higher priced German cars. The cars sold well initially, but suffered a loss in market share in the mid-90s due to Nissan’s struggling financial situation. Once Carlos Ghosn, former Renault boss, took over as the new president, Infiniti regained its focus and started building well designed, executive sedans. On January 4, 2006 Nissan posted a 9.6% increase in the number of vehicles sold in USA from the previous year. Of the 1,076,670 cars sold, many carried the upscale Infiniti badge. Today, the Infiniti lineup includes the FX35, FX 45, G35, M, Q45 and the QX56.
