New Chrysler Cars

Walter P. Chrysler debut the first Chrysler six at the NY auto show in 1924. But, the car was refused entry into the show and generated a lot of publicity simply parked outside. Upon launch, the Chrysler cars sold well, and by 1928, Chrysler Corp acquired Dodge and Walter commissioned William van Alen to build the seventy-seven floor Chrysler headquarters in Manhattan. In 1978, Lee Iacocca, former Ford chairman became president and brought to market the inexpensive K cars. In 1998, Chrysler merged with Daimler-Benz to form DaimlerChrysler AG. Today, the five cars in Chrysler’s lineup include the 300, Pacifica, the PT Cruiser, the Sebring, and the Town and Country.
