In 1902, David Dunbar Buick started the Buick Motor Company in an attempt to make an automobile. Within one year, the company completed 16 cars, and by 1904, it had developed and sold 34 cars. That same year, William Durant came onto the scene and became the company’s general manager. Under Durant’s tutelage, the company grew considerably and in 1908 acquired Oldsmobile and Cadillac to form General Motors. Chevrolet was added to the group in 1918. Today, there are five Buick’s on sale in the USA. These include the Terraza, the Lacrosse, the Lucerne, the Rainier, the Rendezvous.
